Dominique Ansel Bakery

What if Claude Monet were to move to Los Angeles as a young man? This is an exploration of how he might capture the 'city of angels' in different lights and seasons, interpreted throughout the design of both floors. The ground floor bakery is inspired by daybreak, with the scent of freshly baked bread like the morning air. The shades of early light are figuratively reflected in the tonalities of the bakery counter as well as literally through the etched glass structure, which allows daylight to fall down the stairway light well into the bakery.
